Frequently asked questions
RUM Tracking
Is the plugin GDPR compliant?
Yes, as far as we know it is compliant with GDPR since all data is anonymous. We do not store information that can be traced back to an individual like session data, ip addresses and we do not track visitors across multiple pages.
It takes a long time to update the data. Why is it slow?
That is because we are forced to store the RUM data into a MySQL database. MySQL is not a great choice for analytics data. If you need more, faster and better RUM tracking visit Core/Dash
Why do I need real time Core Web Vitals data?
Faster sites gain free organic traffic and an improved conversion rate. Real time RUM Data can help you quickly improve the Core Web Vitals and monitor the Core Web Vitals to avoid sudden drops in pagespeed.
What metrics does the plugin track?
We track, the Largest Contentful paint, First Input Delay, Cumulative Layout Shift, First Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint & Time to First Byte
Is the data real time?
Sort of, all data is stored in a temporary table and every hour that data is merged. If you need the real time data just go to settings and click 'refresh RUM data'.
How do you collect RUM data
The plugin will add a tracking script that will send anonymous data to the WordPress backend.
How can we use free RUM tracking to improve the Core Web Vitals?
To fix the Core Web Vitals you first need to know that is going wrong. RUM data will show you where the Core Web Vital issues are. Then, after implementing a pagespeed fix, the real time data will give you immediate feedback on how much the Core Web Vitals did or did not improve
How accurate is RUM data?
The RUM data has an almost 100% similarity with the Google CruX dataset that is used by Google to track the Core Web Vitals.
